Clay County lakes is a group of 3 "lakes," an Upper, Middle and Lower. These "lakes" are actually 3 well-kept ponds, of about 13, 23 and 38 acres. (I'm not sure which is which, size-wise, but the upper is the smallest, so it must be the 13 acre one. I suspect the lower is the 23 acre one and the middle is the 38 acre one, but I could be wrong, so don't quote me on that!)

They look beautiful, and feature some good cover (fallen trees, etc.) yet are remarkably easy to navigate--no surprise "hull killer" stumps were noticed.

A nice feature of Clay County Lakes is that they have depth-curve maps online (Accessed through the website) available for printout so you can plan your attack from home, and modify your attack once you're there. (No plan of attack ever survived contact with the enemy intact!)

Another nice feature is that there is a "concession stand" where you can buy snacks & drinks as well as bait and get some intel on which of the lakes are biting, etc. There are also male and female restrooms in the same building there.

The launch ramps are cement, but could use a little improvement. They weren't hard particularly hard to access. However, there's no dock next to the ramp, so there is a catch--if you're not very careful AND if you can't horse your boat on and off its trailer by hand. You're going to get your feet wet if you have to float your boat off in other words.

However, renting a boat isn't prohibitively expensive there, either so this may be a more attractive alternative to launching your own.

Still, you can't beat a $3/fisherman (over 12 YOA) and $3 boat ramp fee (electric motors only) for access to 3 very well-kept large ponds for a day.
